I have been able to accomplish so many goals in the last year that it’s scary! I had struggled with my weight for 30 years. Dr. French was honest and straight forward! MATT TOUPS
Lost 175lbs with Gastric Sleeve

“Weight was never an issue in the earlier years of my life. However, in my junior year of high school, I had gotten up to 235 pounds. From then on, I just kept gaining. At my heaviest, I had gotten up to nearly 400 pounds.

I tried going to the gym. I tried all the different diets. I could not get myself motivated to do it on my own. All the while, I was constantly thinking about my family history of medical problems. I had high blood pressure, high triglycerides, and sleep apnea. I knew things would get worse as time went on. I needed to do something.

Years ago, the Sheriff of Jefferson Parish and some of his deputies had weight-loss surgery. That is kind of where I got the idea. I thought that was something I could do to help kickstart my weight loss.

I came across whyweight.com. I signed up to go to a free seminar, which was conducted by Dr. French. I decided that night. That was the route I wanted to go. I met with Dr. French for my initial consultation. We decided together that a gastric sleeve was the plan for me.

Everything started moving pretty quickly from that point on. I did all my preliminary testing and I lost the weight that I needed to lose before surgery.

March 25, 2010 is the day that changed my life forever. Thus began my new journey. Surgery was a breeze for me. I quickly recovered and was back at work in a week. I stuck to my food plan and learned what my new life would be like.

I lost 175 pounds and never looked back. I have never once regretted my decision. I would do it again in a heartbeat if I had too. One of the happiest days of my life is when I came across my old driver’s license that I got in high school. I was back down to the same weight I was when I got the license.

I no longer have any medical conditions. I am no longer on medication. I look forward to going to the gym. I try to eat sensibly as much as I can. I still love steaks and fried foods, just like before my surgery. I eat those things when I have the cravings. Now I eat a whole lot less of a portion and take the rest home.

I’ll close with one piece of advice. Don’t put off your health any longer. Go to a seminar and see what it’s all about. Weight loss surgery is not a fix all or a cure all. You have to work at it and make an effort. It is a lifelong commitment. But, you will truly be happier and healthier for it.
